Description: Escort Frigates were designed to carry large amounts of fighters to battles to complement the larger capital ships. They are almost entirely hangar bays and can carry 10 squadrons of fighters plus landing vehicles. Because most of the effort went into fighter repair and storage area, the escort frigate has a weak defensive system with only 20 turbolasers and 15 ion cannons. Escort Frigates usually travel with an anti-starfighter captial ship such as a Carrack Cruiser or Lancer Frigate.
